Good governance begins with inclusion. A state can only achieve sustainable progress when its people feel heard, represented, and given meaningful opportunities to participate in decisions that affect their lives.
Kaduna Stateโs diversity is one of its greatest strengths. Its communities, young people, women, professionals, traditional institutions, civil society organisations, and diaspora all have different experiences and perspectives that can contribute to better governance. Creating platforms where these voices can be heard can lead to more informed decisions and stronger public trust.
Inclusion should go beyond representation. It should create practical opportunities for citizens to contribute ideas, provide feedback, participate in development initiatives, and hold institutions accountable. Digital platforms, community consultations, professional networks, and diaspora engagement can all help bridge the gap between government and citizens.
The diaspora also has an important role to play. Kaduna indigenes living abroad possess skills, experiences, and international networks that can support governance and development when they are effectively connected to initiatives at home.
At Friends of Jerry in the UK & Diaspora (FOJA), we believe that inclusive governance creates stronger communities and better outcomes. By encouraging dialogue, collaboration, respect for diverse perspectives, and constructive participation, we can help build a Kaduna where every community has a stake in its future.
